The Protein Dual Overdrive V3 from Browne Amplification was initially created to solve the issue of professional musicians getting stuck with inconsistent backline amplifiers. The idea was to create a dual overdrive that could get the job done no matter what amp situation presented itself. The design was a collaboration between Browne's founder, David Brown, and guitarist/producer Adam Sniegowski. 

The "Blue" side of the Protein Dual Overdrive V3 is a heavily modified version of a Bluesbreaker circuit. With loads of headroom packed inside, this transparent-style drive can get as bright as you want it to be by cranking the gain, but can also be tamed by lowering the tone control. You can also utilize it as a clean boost by lowering the gain and increasing the level. The "Green" side is based on the coveted ODR-1 circuit, though it is not a clone by any means. With more mids, low end, and a redesigned power section with lower gain structure, this highly versatile drive circuit can go from low to mid to high gain with ease, maintaining clarity and focus no matter where you set the knobs.

Running the Green into the Blue channel of the Protein Dual Overdrive V3 will bring you more gain, filling out even more sonic space with its combined power. Unlike stacking other overdrives, you won't lose any frequencies you might miss hearing, as its design is meant to cover the whole EQ spectrum when stacking the two sides together.
